Cabinet decision for the Knight's Walk

Last night the Council’s Cabinet met to discuss the proposed redevelopment of the Knight's Walk and it resolved that it will be partially redeveloped. This means that:

  • The following homes would be demolished and replaced: 5a - f, 7, 9, 11a - f, 13, 15, 17 and 19 Knight's Walk
  • The following homes would be retained: 1, 2, 3 Kempsford Road, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 16, 18 and 20 Knight's Walk;

This decision means that the council will start to work up detailed plans for the partial redevelopment of Knight's Walk. Existing residents in homes to be demolished and replaced will have priority for the new homes, and all council tenants will be offered a new home on the estate that meets their housing needs.

What happens next?
The next step is to select a team who will develop detailed plans for the estate over the next 9 to 12 months.
Once the team has been selected, we will contact you early in the new year with a programme of engagement workshops and events to help inform and develop the design of the new homes and place.
