Thank you for attending the community event on Saturday the 15th August. Local residents met with councillors (Alex Bigham and Imogen Walker) along with regeneration officers from the council and architects Bell Phillips to discuss proposals to build new affordable housing on the estate.
There was an opportunity to view a scale model of the proposed development and discuss options to provide a new community hall, landscaping and security improvements to the estate.
The event was attended by around 50 residents and supported by the Hemans Voice - Hemans Estate Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) who are working with the council on the proposals. As well as discussing the development proposals there was also food, music, face-painting and balloon sculptures with the TRA providing opportunities for residents to meet and discuss community issues.
We discussed the proposals using a model of Hemans Estate and residents posted their views on each site on the presentation boards on display. We asked residents specifically whether they have a preference for development of Site 2-A or Site 2-B, as only one of these sites will be progressed further.
If you were unable to attend the event, please take a look at the presentation boards below and email us with your comments.
