Tree Survey Update

Developing Designs for Interior Layout

This month residents had a chance to speak to the Development Management Team in more detail about the working designs for the layouts of the new homes and compare these with existing sizes of Knight’s Walk homes as well as city and borough wide design standards.

Overall people liked the size and proportions of the interiors, in particular having more spacious bedrooms and living rooms that face a private balcony to Knight’s Walk.

People enjoyed looking a the three dimensional models (which are available to see at No.15) and were happy to hear that doors will be 820mm wide, which is wider than existing Knight’s Walk homes.

The key things that people had queries about were whether the kitchen has sufficient space for a table and where residents might be able to dry their washing. Some residents talked about having windows large enough to let light in and positioning them centrally for ease of putting up curtains and also questioned how the bathroom would be ventilated.

Site Investigations Update

Site Investigations on Knight’s Walk are now complete and all equipment has been removed apart from the storage container which will remain until the making good works are completed. A site meeting with the contractors identified the paving slabs that need to be replaced and the making good works are planned for the end of this week.

Utilities Survey

On Wednesday this week the utility survey began on Knight’s Walk. This involves the survey of 24 manhole covers for sewage and will last no more than 4 days. Luke, from Flowline confirmed that the camera used for the survey will be pulled on a trolley by two operatives and will not cause any significant narrowing of the walkways. The two manholes in the planted areas can be surveyed from adjacent drains which means that the planting will not be disturbed. If you have any questions regarding this please call: 0800 072 0265
