The Development Management Team have published Newsletter #34 for South Lambeth Estate and it is available to read here.

Gas diversion works 

As you will remember from previous newsletters a new community facility is going to be built in the ground floor of Wimborne House. To allow work to start this the current gas supply to Wimborne needs to be diverted.

These works are been managed by Lambeth Council and their contractor, SGN, will be starting this work on Monday 20th May 2019.

They will take place outside the caretaker’s office, and the picture below shows where the works will be taking place.

The works will happen in two general phases:

Phase 1 from the 20th-24th: welding and excavation works will occur.

Phase 2 from the 27th-31st: the new pipe will be working, and the area that has been dug up will be restored to how it was before.

There will be no loss of gas to homes during the works.

The works will take place between 8am-5pm. In case of emergency please call 0800 111999.

Lollard Street Visit 

As mentioned in previous newsletters Homes for Lambeth has now taken management of its first 70 council level rent homes at Lollard Street in Kennington.

At the moment residents are moving into these homes via a local lettings plan and through the councils Choice Based Lettings scheme.

Last week we had a successful open house event to show residents and councillors around the new homes, so they see what the first Homes for Lambeth look like as well as the new public spaces which had been built as a part of the development which is open to all residents.

Feedback on these new homes was positive, and we also captured lots of comments which Homes for Lambeth can look at for future houses.This included comments around the space left for people to put in their own cookers and fridges in the kitchens and the fixtures and fittings in the bathrooms.

ACTIVITIES IN THE HUB DROP-IN SESSION

In the last months newsletter we asked you what kind of activities you would like to see take place in the hub (2 Broadstone).

To support this we are holding a drop in session on:

Where: 2 Broadstone house

This will give you an opportunity to see what has already been completed on the South Lambeth estate and other estates and to most importantly give us your ideas.

Hello everyone,

Hoping that you have all had a fun bank holiday weekend.

Over the coming months you will finally start to see the change ahead for South Lambeth estate, and you may find some of it a little daunting. Change is never easy.

As an independent advisor, its TPAS’ role to provide impartial and independent advice to tenants, home owners and even temporary tenants, affected by the regeneration proposals. However, we can also provide individual support to residents and guide them through the process, working with them in the way that suits them best. For example, households that have particular health and support need, can use our services to help negotiate on their behalf with the landlord, contractors and developers.

TPAS can also help residents gain access to information they require to make an informed decision about the future of their homes, and we will check to influence that the information provided is clear, complete and understandable.
