South Lambeth: Resident study trip to New Union Wharf

On the 13th July a group of residents and officers hopped on a bus to visit New Union Wharf in Tower Hamlets. New Union Wharf is a project by East Thames; they are a housing association, which will replace the 189 homes built in the 1970/80's on the estate replaced with 399 modern, energy efficient homes.

We met with the Tenants and Residents Association who shared their experiences from the very start of the regeneration process; to what it is like to live on the estate while building works are taking place.

We also got the opportunity to go into one of the new homes and residents agreed that this had been built to a very high standard. We have received some very useful feedback from those who attended.

A big thank-you, to everyone who gave up their afternoon to come along, I am sure they will tell you it was a very useful trip.  If you missed out we will look to do another study trip in the future.

Picture shows the existing on the estate and new homes which have been built.
