Independent Advisors Update

We hope that you and your families are all keeping well.

Now that lockdown is easing, we are looking forward to getting back on the estate and meeting residents. We are also pleased the REP meetings have started up again.

We are still making phone calls to residents and it has been great talking with so many  of you over the last few weeks. Tenants in the low-rise buildings are looking forward to moving into the new homes, but there are bound to be some anxieties. Moving home can be stressful and we want to ensure the process is as clear as possible and over the next few months residents get all the support they need.

We are also asking the Council and HfL to make sure that the leaseholders who want to remain on Westbury have a clear picture of their future housing options in the new development and how they will be affected when work on the future phases begins.

Our advice line is always available, so whether you live in the low-rise buildings or in the tower blocks then please get in touch if you have any questions or need any advice. Feel free to call us on 0800 644 6040

Best wishes,

Your Homes For Lambeth

Hello,

My name is Margaret Amadi. I am the new Resident Engagement Officer for Westbury Estate. My career has been in the housing sector for 12 years. My previous work with vulnerable tenants kept me working hard to ensure that their homes and circumstances were respected. Some astonishing property developments and financial outcomes for my past residents as a result, stand amongst my proudest professional moments.

I am known as a creative due to my interest and participation in poetry. I hope that my creativity filters into the role so we can generate stronger cohesion between Homes for Lambeth and residents on the estate.

Since arriving in this post, I have already seen what has been put in place.

The care and attention shown towards the needs of the residents is something that I admire and aspired to be a part of before I was chosen for this role.

When it comes to welfare reform, regeneration, tenant rights and any other area that will benefit the community - I want to be involved.

I welcome questions and suggestions. If there is something I do not know, I will do my best to find the answer or find the person who does.

I look forward to getting to know you and the estate community.
