All residents on Central Hill will now have received a letter announcing the Council's intention to select Mace as the Development Management Team. Mace, as the Development Management Team, will work with residents to produce a plan for the new estate which can be submitted to planning for approval.
This is another significant step forward in delivering on our pledge to build better homes for you and more homes to help tackle the housing crisis in the borough, as well as our commitments made in the Key Guarantees.
What happens next?
The next step is the signing of the contract with Mace, after which the new team will arrange a series of meetings, estate walkabouts and drop-ins on Central Hill. We will inform you of these dates nearer the time.
Mace will also work with the already established residents’ design group, and the engagement and communication group. If you are a Lambeth tenant or resident homeowner and want to be involved in these groups, please contact the regeneration team.
The plan for the estate will include a phased development proposal, and indicative timescales for development. We want the first phase on parts of the estate where there is capacity to build, without requiring residents to move.
It is important that we get this plan right and we expect the process of producing it to take at least 12 months.
At the moment, there is no urgency for residents to move from Central Hill, unless you choose to do so.
