The Development Management Team have published Newsletter #38 for South Lambeth Estate and it is available to read here.

Update on Block A 

HFL Build Ltd have now appointed Hill Partnership Ltd to undertake the construction of new homes to the first phase of the estate regeneration. Block A will be constructed on the current car parking and open area located between Dorset Road and Wimbourne House. There are no demolition works required to enable Block A’s construction, however, the existing trees will be removed 13th January 2020 which should take approximately
1 week to complete. A plan showing which trees will be removed can be seen by clicking here.

Hoarding will be erected on 13th February 2020 and will take circa. 2 weeks to complete with the main works following on. 

With the appointment of Hill Partnership Ltd the detailed design can now commence which will be in line with the previously shown planning approval design.

Prior to the works commencing on-site, a Meet the Contractor event will be held at the Community Hub which will give you the opportunity to discuss the logistics and any other matters that you may have queries/concerns about.

Works to Wimborne House

The council has engaged with Engie Construction, to undertake works to the community centre and entrance hall to the building. The works will see the construction of a new Community Hub which will replace the existing community centre. In addition, the entrance hall to the building will be refurbished creating a second entrance to the rear of the building along with improvements to staff facilities.

The refurbishment of the Green Shop is now complete and there will be an Open Day on Saturday 25th January, 12 – 5pm at the shop. Come along
and meet the Resident Engagement Team and ask questions about the rebuilding of the estate.

On the day you will have the chance to suggest activities for the shop and let us know how you would like to be involved. There will also be the
opportunity to give your ideas for the design, furniture and fittings for the Green shop. There will be light refreshments and a face painter. It would be great to see you on the day.

News from Independent Advisors 

This is just a reminder that if you need support and advice about the changes or just want to come in for a chat, the hub is open every Tuesday between 3.30pm – 6.30pm at 2 Broadstone House, Dorset Road. We are a friendly bunch so don’t be nervous about dropping in.

As a social tenant you may be looking forward to your new homes but concerned about timescales of the build and information such as future living costs.

As a homeowner, you may have questions about whether you want to remain on the estate through the rebuild or whether to move elsewhere.
Whatever your concerns, please remember that we are here to offer independent advice, and what you discuss with us will be completely confidential.
