What’s happening on your estate
In order to provide more and better homes in the area, Lambeth are planning to redevelop part of Westbury Estate. Because we want to produce a design which you, the residents, are happy with, we will be doing all we can to ensure that you are: Informed about what is happening, Involved in the process, so that you can; Influence what happens next.
Coming up in September/October
Summer Play Pop-up | 12.08.16
On a sunny Friday afternoon some Westbury Estate residents of all ages joined us by the fountain to talk about play spaces, outdoor space and how they choose to play on the estate. Besides the football, obstacle course and fruit kebabs, we ran two main activities to hear what people thought about play:
Types of Play:
We presented four types of play to everyone and this sparked some conversations about what people liked and disliked:
What the Adults said:
We also spoke to parents and the adults of the estate and found out that having a visual connection to the play spaces was very important as well as having safe and protected play areas. Some adults also like to use the squares and mounds to sit on, socialise and listen to music.
If you missed our first play pop-up, don’t worry as there will be more opportunities to talk about play and outdoor activity in the coming months.
We are excited to announce that this September, No.7 Fovant Court will open it’s doors as a new resident space on the Westbury Estate. No.7 is a more informal space where everyone is welcome to come and chat, ask questions and share their ideas.
Every month there will be a range of activities, exhibitions and coffee and cake afternoons for residents to join in. From craft sessions to telling us about your best memories over a cup of tea, this is a space for residents to pop in when they want
and also find out the latest information about the redevelopment.
Look out for updates on what’s on at No.7. which will be advertised on the front door of No.7, in your monthly newsletters and on the Lambeth regeneration website.
