As you may be aware the Willington Road terraced houses (the odd numbers from 7-51) were included within the Fenwick Estate Regeneration Feasibility Study, which has been on-going since November 2015.
As part of this process, at the request of ward Councillors, the council committed in April to do further work regarding the odd-numbered properties on Willington Road before a decision is made regarding their inclusion in future plans for the estate.
This review is now complete, and it has been decided that these properties will be retained, and therefore excluded from the regeneration project, which will seek recommendation at Cabinet in July. This is primarily due to the existing condition of the stock and the need for investment in these homes in comparison to the Fenwick estate, the financial feasibility of redevelopment, and a consideration of resident views.
